Health In Balance
3 foundational aspects to balancing nutrition and your health

Studio Balance is hosting a special 3-series workshop together with Nicole Fenner on the importance of sleep, gut health and stress between September and November.

What to expect:
Nicole will teach you the importance of how each of these 3 can impact your health, how to recognize possible deficiencies, and will provide you with a 'toolkit' to support and aid you in your efforts to find more balance.

Nicole will walk you through what to eat to best support you within these aspects of your life, while also guiding you through relevant short practices that you can use at home when you are feeling like you need some additional support.

These workshops will be kept small - the idea is to offer a fun, interactive and comfortable environment where you have an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your body.

These are offered as a series of three workshops over three months. You can join for the entire series, or you can pick one or two if you are more interested in a particular topic.

Dates:

  • Sunday 26 Sept from 14:00-16:30:  Sleep. The importance of good sleep and how to get more of it

Understanding what it is and exploring ways to improve yours

Our gut is considered the second brain - and goes far beyond simply describing digestion. Our gut is connected to our brain through an extensive network of neurons and a highway of chemicals and hormones.  The gut therefore plays a crucial role in our overall health and can influence mood, immune response, sleep, weight gain, and many other areas of our health and lives.

During this 2.5 hour workshop Nicole will highlight the crucial role our gut plays  in our overall health and how it can influence mood, immune response, sleep, weight gain, and many other areas of our health and lives.

You will learn to recognize if your gut microbiome is out of balance and how to bring it back into balance through foods, stress management, and many other areas which influence this intricate ecosystem.

There will also be some light snacks and drinks provided, to show you how food can help with supporting a healthier gut. Including a brief how-to-session to make an incredibly delicious but also beneficial for the gut recipe. This recipe you'll also get to taste in the workshop.

You will leave this workshop with a much deeper understanding of the importance of gut health and the best way to support your gut for optimal health and function.

Management techniques and understanding ways you can help your body cope.

The implications of stress is something that we have all heard about, many times. We know that it has a great impact on our overall health. Even knowing this, with the busy lives we lead, sometimes stress can be inevitable.

During this 2.5 hour workshop, you will learn to understand how stress affects the nervous system and body, and how this influences the way our body processes and digests food. We will begin to see how important stress management is for overall well being and why this topic is something that is so often spoken about when referring to health and well being. We will also provide light snacks and beverages during the workshop.

The idea of this workshop is to help you to recognize when you are in a 'stressed' state. Instead of then avoiding it or pushing it away,

Nicole will provide you with a 'toolkit' to use during these times to help bring your system back into balance. We will cover nutrition, sleep, movement, meditation and several other beneficial practices that can support your nervous system during stressful periods.
